Dental Implant Restorations

Dental implant restoration can replace missing or extracted teeth. Dental implants are one of the newest alternatives in tooth replacement. The first step is to have a dental implant completed by a surgeon, while the dental implant restoration is the second step of the process.

Dental implant restoration is a procedure that creates an artificial tooth to replace a missing tooth. The process involves attaching this tooth to an implanted root that is fused with the bone over a period of time. A dental surgeon will place a dental implant, made of titanium, in the jawbone at the site of the missing tooth. The dental implant will replace the missing tooth root giving the dental implant restoration a solid foundation. Once the dental implant has completely healed, about three to six months, a dental implant restoration can begin.

Each dental implant restoration looks different depending on the patient. A crown, dental bridge, or denture of an artificial tooth will be placed over and secured to the implant.
